My mentor told me that it's easy to start creating something, but it's hard to complete it, upon hearing that I want to finally start, complete and ship out a game myself; this is Birdy Hop.
Inspired by Flappy Bird, Birdy Hop is a simple ketchapp game where you control a bird hopping from platform to platform gaining as many points as possible.
One of the more challenging experience in developing Birdy Hop was the game balancing, is it too hard? too easy? I wanted an experience where newcomers would get around 10 points, whereas skilled player could get 50+ points. After a few iterations with a different testers on Android and iOS, I believe I chose the correct settings that fullfilled my goals.
